Google’s operating system for lightweight IoT devices, the well-looking Android Things operating system, was originally intended to run on a wide range of hardware. This is the most successful Google Assistant smart display and speakers, and it is now the only Android Things product group to be licensed.
Over the past year, Google has worked closely with its partners to create Android Things-based consumer products with Google’s built-in assistant,” the Android Things team recently said in a blog post. “Given the success we’ve seen in smart speakers and smart displays with our partners, we’re changing Android Things as a platform for OEM partners to build devices in these categories.
The source of this operating system is closed, but developers can create apps for this operating system. Google has provided three years of free updates for this operating system.
